Next year's X-Men: Dark Phoenix film has added two more actors. One is a fan favorite, while the other is a newcomer to the franchise.
Evan Peters, who portrayed Peter Maximoff aka Quicksilver in Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse will reprise his role for a third time.
You might be asking yourself, “What does Quicksilver have to do with the Dark Phoenix Saga?” According to the comics, absolutely nothing. But in the film universe, the character’s last appearance left us with a major loose end. In Apocalypse, it was revealed that Peter was the long-lost son of Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Unfortunately, instead of telling Dad the truth, Quicksilver opted to keep the news to himself.
Lamar Johnson, who’s known for his role on the TV series The Next Step, has also joined the cast. At the moment, his X-Men identity is being kept under wraps.
On top of the two new additions, X-Men: Dark Phoenix’s current cast includes Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Nicholas Hoult. The film is written and directed by Simon Kinberg and is scheduled to hit theaters November 2, 2018.
