With the news of Dick Clark's passing today at 82 of a heart attack, we look back at one of his most memorable contributions to pop culture—the time the American Bandstand emcee dropped in on the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder.

The '60s Batman show was notable for many things—pulpy heroism, slinky villainesses, a somewhat casual relationship with logic—but it was also insanely popular, prompting many celebs of the era to cameo as heads popping out of a window while the Dynamic Duo "climbed" up a wall to foil something or other.

It's hard to imagine what kind of "singing duo" would be A) climbing up a wall and B) dressed quite so garishly, but it's hard to argue with Clark ... who knew a thing or two about the entertainment business.
