We still don't know when the next season of Doctor Who — featuring the beginning of Jodie Whittaker's tenure as the 13th, and first female, Doctor — will finally premiere on TV screens around the world, but that doesn't mean we have to wait much longer for official 13th Doctor adventures. Earlier this year, Titan Comics announced that the character will star in her own new comic book seriesDoctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor, and now we've finally got the first official look in the form of issue #0.

Subtitled The Many Lives of Doctor Who, the zero issue will be a 64-page "primer" for both longtime Who fans and readers looking to revisit the history of the series before Whittaker takes over the TARDIS. Titan officially announced the issue's arrival on Thursday, and here's how they described it in a press release sent out today.

"It's said that your life flashes before your eyes when you die, and the Doctor’s had many of them! As the Doctor regenerates from his twelfth incarnation to her thirteenth, she relives unseen adventures from all her past selves from Classic through to New Who."

The issue will arrive in September, ahead of the launch of the #1 issue of The Thirteenth Doctor comic series in October, followed by a "Doctor Who Comics Day" celebration on Nov. 24. The Thirteenth Doctor series was first announced by Titan in February, and beginning with issue #1 it will boast the all-female creative team of writer Jody Houser, artist Rachel Stott, and colorist Erica Angiolini. Stott will also be on board as one of the contributors to issue #0, along with a massive team that includes writer Richard Dinnick and artists Mariano Laclaustra, Giorgia Sposito, Arianna Florean, Iolanda Zanfardino, Brian Williamson, and Claudia Ianniciello.
