The network took its sweet time but The CW has finally unleashed an extended trailer for the upcoming fifth season of the post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, The 100. With one green spot now left on Earth, looks like things are about to get more violent than ever when everyone will be out to kill in order to take control of it.

Season 5 takes place six years following the events of the Season 4 finale and Praimfaya. We learn that Clarke survived because the death wave somehow jumped over an entire valley. She’s accompanied by Madi, a young girl Clarke found on the ground (and who’s become a surrogate daughter to her) after Bellamy and co. blasted off into space to the Ark while Oliva, Abby, Kane and the rest of the survivors locked themselves in the underground bunker beneath Polis. Which we learn is covered in rubble.

Of course, that bit of green in an otherwise desolated Earth will become a piece of contention when the mysterious inhabitants of the prison ship — seen here for the first time in the extended trailer — that landed at the end of the fourth season (and which Clarke first mistook for Bellamy’s ship) will try to appropriate it for themselves.

The trailer also reveals that some of our favorite characters will be reunited at one point or another this season. The Ark crew will return to Earth while the bunker survivors now called “Onekru” will also manage to dig themselves out of the rubble. Oh, and we even get a cool little Alien homage.

There's so much to see in the extended trailer so don't forget to check it out, and let us know if you're looking forward to the series' return on April 24 on The CW.
