Preacher is going on a road trip when the show returns for its sophomore season this summer, and AMC has released a tantalizing trailer for the supernatural series.

Created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Sam Catlin, Preacher will see Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun return in the respective roles of Jesse Custer, Tulip O’Hare and their vampire pal Cassidy. Also back are Ian Coletti as Arseface, Tom Brooke as Fiore (seen in the trailer) and Graham McTavish as the Cowboy, aka the Saint of Killers, who will be on our trio’s trail for Season 2.

New players this year include Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Julie Ann Emery (Fargo), Malcolm Barrett (Dear White People), Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why), and Ronald Guttman (Mad Men). The supernatural series will return with a two-night event, kicking off on Sunday, June 25, at 10:00 p.m on AMC, followed by Episode 2 on Monday, June 26, at 9:00 p.m. (the series’ regular night and timeslot), so mark your calendars accordingly!

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher is an absurdly twisted and action-packed thrill ride. When Jesse Custer (Cooper), a small-town preacher with a criminal past, realizes God is absent from Heaven, Jesse sets out to find Him. Along for the ride are Tulip (Negga), Jesse’s volatile true love, and Cassidy (Gilgun), a 119-year-old Irish vampire and Jesse’s best mate. The gang ends up in New Orleans, where they must dodge local gangsters, dangerous secret agents in white suits, and the Saint of Killers, an unstoppable killer cowboy from Hell.

From the look of things, there will still be plenty of humorous banter between our main characters when the show returns, and it looks like the gang will quickly become aware of the Saint of Killers' murderous mission. Check it out and chime in with your thoughts.
