If you're not a diehard Star Wars fan, chances are you don't know the name "Ackmena." If you do, you're most likely familiar with her from her most notable appearance in Star Wars canon - and it's not any of the movies. No, it was actually in the Star Wars Holiday Special that Ackmena (played by the late Bea Arthur of Golden Girls fame) first made her debut. She was revealed to be the evening bartender at the Mos Eisley cantina that Luke and Obi-Wan frequent during their first meeting with Han Solo and Chewbacca.

Ackmena only showed up once in the Holiday Special, but she makes the most of her sole on-screen appearance by singing arguably the best song ever at the cantina's closing time while also rebuffing the advances of a particularly insistent male humanoid named Krelman. Eventually, she got a much more fleshed-out backstory in the canon short-story collection From a Certain Point of View, where Chuck Wendig's "We Don't Serve Their Kind Here" established her as living on Tatooine with her wife Sorschi.

In case you didn't know already, Ackmena is a badass - and in celebration of Life Day, the time-honored Wookiee tradition that kicks off the Holiday Special to begin with, we decided to round up our favorite Ackmena fan art to shine a spotlight on the bartender who deserves more love:
