We’ve hit that point in the summer when we’re all over it. The beach brings with it memories of sand in your bathing suit and those kids that kick it up all over your towel. The public pool is brimming with questionable liquids, barbecues only add more heat to the air, and the mall is already stocked with fall clothes. Now we're just waiting for the moment when it will finally cool off, and we can’t take the anticipation. Why do this to yourself? It’s far more relaxing to spend the day on your couch with a controller in your hand. Put your feet up, kick back with a nice glass of iced tea or a frosty beer, and check out these deals on PS4 for the week of August 5.

If you’re a fan of artificial intelligence, you should definitely check out the Quantic Dream/Sony Interactive Entertainment game Detroit: Become Human. In the game, you play as three androids: Kara, a house maid and caretaker; Connor, a cop who hunts down malfunctioning androids; and Markus, another caretaker. These three break through their programming and take part in a revolution. If you love story over fighting, this is the game for you. It’s incredibly immersive, and gets pretty deep into what makes something or someone human. The voice acting and mocap is phenomenal. The Deluxe Edition of the game is on sale for $49.69, down from $69.99. You can check out our write up here, and our thoughts on a new Chloe (spoilers) here.

Feeling like a good battle might chase away the late summer doldrums? The Battlefield Anniversary Bundle is on sale for $39.99, down from $99.99 with your Plus membership, which is a pretty great deal. You can also get Battlefield I Revolution for $14.99 (which includes the base game and the Premium Pass) down from $59.99. Or make it a double deal with Battlefield I and Titanfall 2 Ultimate Bundle from EA, with you can get for a mere $19.99, down from $79.99.

A different sort of battle, you say? Perhaps in the Star Wars universe? PS4 has you covered. Right now you can get Star Wars Battlefront II for $17.99, down from $59.99.

Are you in a racing mood? DiRT4 from Codemasters is on sale now for the PS4. It’s a pretty good deal at $16.79, down from $59.99. Not too shabby. If murder is more your speed, you can get Hitman: Game of the Year Edition for $29.99, down from $59.99. If you’re up for an action-adventure game, Ubisoft Montreal’s 2016 game Far Cry Primal lets you follow the story of Takkar in the Mesolithic Age. The Digital Apex Edition of the game is on sale for $16.49, down from $54.99. The regular edition is even cheaper at $14.99, down from $49.99.

No Man’s Sky Next, the fourth update for the game, is out right now! It’s on sale for $29.99, down from $59.99. You play as the Traveller, who wakes up on a remote planet near your spaceship, getting a message from The Atlas. You encounter aliens and head to the center of the galaxy.

In the mood for a good flick? You don’t need a Plus membership for PS4’s film deals. Right now you can check out Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs for $9.99, down from $19.99. Want more? You can get Isle of Dogs and Fantastic Mr. Fox for $19.99, down from $29.99. Not enough Wes? You can get both of those, plus The Grand Budapest Hotel starring every single actor you've ever loved, as well as The Darjeeling Limited for $25.99, down from $44.99.

Got a little aggression to get out? Well, we don’t talk about Fight Club, but you can watch it for $7.49, down from $14.99. You can get that same deal on Kingsman: The Secret Service and Prometheus. Heck, you can battle your friends about the brilliance or awfulness of Prometheus all day long. That should keep you busy until fall. If you’re craving a little Liam Neeson, you can grab the Taken trilogy for $14.99, down from 29.99. If you’re in the mood for horror, Don’t Breathe is on sale for $7.99, down from $9.99. You can giggle along with Game Night, which was surprisingly hysterical, for $15.19, down from $18.99. If you really want to go deep this weekend, check out the anime Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence for $7.49, down from $9.99.

Are you guys all set to sit out the heat? What are you planning on playing and/or watching this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
