This week we're getting world-record high temperatures in Death Valley, California. The East Coast of America is swimming in humidity. Unless you actually want eggs cooked on the hood of your car, we're all just waiting until we can go outside without melting. Why bother? There is air conditioning inside the house! Your Xbox is calling to you with tales of magical movies and discounted games! You should listen to it. Here are the best deals on Xbox for the week ending on August 5.
Who needs barbecues when you have a young wizard? This week on Xbox One, there is a massive sale on the Harry Potter films. You can get all eight films, covering the seven books from J.K. Rowling, for $49.99. That’s down from $108.92. They’re definitely worth a rewatch, especially if you’re getting yourself ready for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which will open in theaters on November 16. Revisit the story of Harry Potter and his struggle to vanquish a certain terrible wizard who shall not be named, even if you do it for all the beastie references.
Also on sale this week is Spider-Man: Homecoming. For those of you still reeling from Avengers: Infinity War, this is a good buffer before you relive what happens to everyone when Infinity War comes out on Blu-ray on August 14. It’s on sale with bonus features for $9.99, down from $19.99. For something completely different, you can pick up This Is Spinal Tap for $4.99 (down from $14.99). This 1984 mockumentary about metal bands is the origin of the "this goes up to 11" line, and if you’ve never seen it, now is the time. The film was directed and co-written by Rob Reiner and stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer as members of the fictional British band Spinal Tap on a U.S. tour. The film was mostly improvised, and it’s pretty darn awesome.
On the game front, if you’re craving some winter sports, Gold members can get NHL 18 at 75% off. That's just $10, down from $39.99. Cracking teeth not enough violence for you? Check out EA Sports' UFC 3: Deluxe Edition. You can battle it out for $32, down from $79.99.
