It looks like DC Comics no longer has the monopoly on either parallel universes or crises occurring on them. Counterpart stars J.K. Simmons as Howard Silk (Alpha), a low-level worker for the United Nations in Berlin. His agency, Interchange, oversees the barrier to another earth, where another Howard Silk (Prime) works as an agent in charge of catching people crossing between the worlds for evil actions.
Think Timecop, but with alternate realities, and a heaping dose of Fringe. In the trailer for the Starz series' second season, we get some insight into the consequences of the end of Season 1, in which the barrier is closed, trapping the Howards on the wrong worlds.
Check out the trailer below.
While Howard-Prime is taking over a life of monotony, Howard-Alpha is being held captive at a black-ops site, no one believing him to be the wrong man. Season 2 looks to delve even more into the secret war that is brimming between the two worlds. Only with less Nick Fury led clandestine Avenger teams.
Counterpart Season 2, also starring Olivia Williams and Harry Llyod, premieres December 9 on Starz.
