Another DC Comics villain has been added to the cast of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow for a multi-episode arc.

Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot) has joined the cast -- in a recurring capacity -- in the role of Valentina Vostok, a beautiful, intelligent Russian scientist who our time-traveling heroes will encounter at the height of the Cold War.

Because they suspect Vostok to be in league with the series’ Season 1 villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), the Atom (Brandon Routh) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) must engage in some healthy male competition by trying to win her affections so that they can discover where her true loyalties lie.

In the comics, the character of Valentina Vostok has also gone by the name of Negative Woman. A lieutenant colonel in the Soviet Air Force, she commandeered an experimental Russian fighter plane and attempted to escape to the U.S.A. When the plane ultimately crashed in the same location where the Doom Patrol had died, Vostok became merged with Negative Man's body, which then gave her the ability to fly and to become intangible. She could also generate minor explosions upon contact with positive energy. Because of this, her body eventually became permanently radioactive, forcing her to wear radiation-blocking bandages all over her body.

A spinoff of Arrow and The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow is set for a midseason premiere on The CW.
