The CW still hasn’t officially announced the renewal of its Arrowverse TV line-up but network boss Mark Pedowitz is extremely “optimistic” that viewers will be getting more superheroing shenanigans come next season.
Pedowitz was on hand at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour on Sunday where he chatted to Entertainment Weekly about the potential renewal of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. He declined to confirm that all four DC TV series would be back next season despite the fact that the network typically drops those confirmations at the TCA event.
“We haven’t renewed anything yet,” Pedowitz told EW. “We’re not quite ready to do that. We’re a couple of weeks out. I’m pretty confident a lot of the [CW] slate is coming back. We’re just not ready to make that a formal announcement yet.”
Pedowitz explained why they haven’t confirmed any show renewal just yet, saying “It is only Jan. 7.” The CW boss then added: “It’s just a question of the board and I getting together and having a discussion about it. We just weren’t ready with the holidays and this came just days later. We’ll get there. I’m confident most of our schedule is coming back.”
The CW is also adding a new superhero series to the DC TV slate this year and that is Black Lightning, which will premiere on Jan. 16. You can have a look at SYFY WIRE's coverage of the show's TCA panel right here.
