Ahead of Doctor Who’s Season 10 debut this weekend, BBC America has unleashed a batch of intriguing new images from the premiere episode.
Titled “The Pilot” and penned by showrunner Steven Moffat, the episode will debut on Saturday, kicking off the show’s hotly anticipated 10th season, which will see the introduction of Pearl Mackie as the Doctor’s (Peter Capaldi) newest companion, Bill Potts, and the return of Matt Lucas as Nardole.
Season 10 will also feature the return of John Simm as The Master and Michelle Gomez as Missy. It’s going to be a complete riot to see these two wildly different versions of the Doctor's oldest friend and enemy interact for the first time ever on screen, and I can't wait to see that. Oh, also back for more are the Daleks (who are in the first episode), the Ice Warriors (including an Empress) and the Mondasian Cybermen. From everything I've seen so far, I have a feeling Moffat’s final hurrah as showrunner is going to be epic! Here’s the synopsis for “The Pilot”:
Two worlds collide when the Doctor meets Bill. A chance encounter with a girl with a star in her eye leads to a terrifying chase across time and space. Bill’s mind is opened to a Universe that is bigger and more exciting than she could possibly have imagined. But who is the Doctor, and what is his secret mission on Earth?
Doctor Who returns to BBC America, Space and the BBC on Staturday April 15. Are you excited about stepping back into the TARDIS?
