Fans of The Dark Tower rejoice! Ahead of the hotly anticipated first trailer slated to debut tomorrow, Columbia Pictures has unleashed three cool motion posters for the Stephen King big screen adaptation’s main characters.

Based on King’s series of fantasy books and directed by Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair), The Dark Tower stars Idris-for-everything-Elba as Roland Deschain, aka The Gunslinger; Matthew McConaughey as Walter O’Dim, aka Randall Flagg, aka The Man in Black; and Tom Taylor (The Last Kingdom) as Jake Chambers.

The upcoming film also stars Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) as Tirana, Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods) as Pimli, as well as Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, A Nightmare on Elm Street), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) and Claudia Kiim (Avengers: Age of Ultron). For those unfamiliar with the books, here's a synopsis:

The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.

The Dark Tower will open on August 4, 2017. Are you looking forward to tomorrow's trailer and the movie?
