Orbiting the cinematic universe of Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond, IDW's Star Trek: Boldly Go comic series exists in the alternate Kelvin Timeline but pushes the outer space escapades out into new galactic territory, with Chris Pine's James T. Kirk captaining the U.S.S. Endeavour toward exotic exploits and intriguing otherworldly destinations.

After last month's one-shot detailing the origin story of Jaylah (Sofia Boutella), March's Star Trek Boldly Go #6 is another engaging solo story with Sulu getting a promotion to first officer and the valiant Federation starship encountering the strange properties of a rare "white hole."

Here's the official solicitation synopsis:

In this issue, set after the events of Star Trek Beyond, “after their encounter with the deadly Borg, Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Endeavour face an uncertain future…and a powerful new threat to the Federation!”

Star Trek Boldly Go #6 lands in comic shops on Wednesday, March 29, and features the solid, adventurous writing of Mike Johnson and Ryan Parrott paired with the raw, energized pencil stylings of Chris Mooneyham.
