The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: A love-hate bromance is brewing in Disney+ first trailer

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

After showing off a first look at some of its costume designs and character concepts back in November, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is preparing fans of the MCU to move from the big screen to the small thanks to the Disney+ show's fresh new trailer.

The team-up between Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) is among the early wave of original Marvel series bound for Disney+, with direct ties to the larger events of the MCU. From the look of things, there's a budding bromance brewing between these two unlikely-paired heroes, complete with all the highs and lows that entails.

"The legacy of that shield is…complicated," intones Falcon at the start, before the action takes off into territory that wouldn’t look the least bit out of place on a giant movie screen. Check it out — and be sure to watch for a true bro-team moment in the muscle-flexing vein of Predator’s meme-worthy epic handshake, once the duo decides to double down on working together.

With the world “upside down,” Bucky intuits that Cap’s oversized legacy should be poised for some kind of comeback — if, that is, he and Falcon can get on the same page.

“People need something to get behind — they need a symbol,” he says…before Falcon decides to (literally) wing it and write fate’s next chapter like it’s an easy improv exercise. As the clip’s final moments hint, the series is probably setting up a wealth of comedic possibilities with the whole new buddy dynamic — even if it means these guys end up antagonizing each other almost as much as they do the bad guys.

The show will also feature returning characters Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), while newcomer Wyatt Russell dons the Captain America-esque mask of Super Patriot aka Jonathan Walker. Showrunner Malcolm Spellman is behind the series.
