A little song, a little dance: The CW has released the extended trailer for their upcoming The Flash/Supergirl musical crossover. Oh, and we also have a behind-the-scenes look, as well as 40 glitzy images to share.
Titled "Duet," next week's episode of The Flash is the musical extravaganza we've all been waiting for, kicked off in (what I assume to be) the final minutes of Supergirl (set to air the evening before) when DC villain Music Meister (Darren Criss) shows up to whammy Melissa Benoist's Girl of Steel.
The super-duper special will see Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) cross over to Earth-1 to seek help from Team Flash. "Duet" will see Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist sing and dance their way through the episode alongside Flash stars Jesse L. Martin and Carlos Valdes, Victor Garber (Legends of Tomorrow), John Barrowman (Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) and Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl). Here's the episode synopsis:
Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can't cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end.
Love, love, LOVE the 1940s style. Can't wait to see this unfold on my TV screen. I'm sure it's going to be a hoot and a half! The Flash musical crossover episode, "Duet," will air on March 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
