There have been rumblings that Flash and Supergirl’s next meeting would reunite the Glee alums in a musical event, and now it’s official.

TV Line reports Supergirl and Flash will cross over for a musical event that will pit the DC heroes against The Music Meister. The musical baddie has yet to be cast, though fans are still pining for the dream casting of Neil Patrick Harris (he voiced the character in the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold and would be pretty much perfect in the role). For what it's worth, producer Andrew Kreisberg admitted they're "certainly huge fans" of Harris. So fingers crossed.

The script is reportedly complete, so looking at the production schedule, it stands to reason this episode will fall toward the end of the season for both shows. Stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin are certainly not strangers to musicals, and the two held lengthy stints on Fox's musical series Glee. So the talent is there — and here's hoping the script stacks up.

Looking into deep geek fan-casting, there were rumblings a while back that Joss Whedon might be interested in directing the episode. As anyone who has ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer's seminal "Once More, With Feeling" can attest, that would be about the coolest thing ever. If Harris lands the gig as Music Meister, it could help the odds, since the two previously collaborated on the cult hit musical web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog.

Dream big, y’all.
