We already assumed the new character Nora West-Allen, aka Mystery Girl, would be a major player in Season 5 of The CW’s Flash. Well, she’s even bigger than we thought.

Entertainment Weekly reports actress Jessica Parker Kennedy has been promoted to a series regular in the show’s fifth season. The character, known by fans for most of the season as Mystery Girl, had popped up in mysterious cameos for most of the season. It was only revealed in the Season 4 finale that she’s actually the future daughter of Iris and Barry, who has traveled back in time to enlist the help of her young parents to fix a mysterious mistake.

After seeding her mystery for months, it’s no surprise the writers plan for this arc to help drive Season 5, and now we know Nora will be around for the long haul. She’ll be joined by fan favorite Hartley Sawyer, aka Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man, in being promoted to series regular status for Year 5.

Looking to the comics, the character looks to be a reimagining of Barry and Iris’ daughter Dawn Allen. We’ve already seen that Nora is a speedster, so Team Flash will still be plenty fast, even with the departure of Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West/Kid Flash.

The Flash returns this fall on The CW.
