The foul stench of Carrie Fisher's fake British accent will not return for Star Wars Episode VII

So many people, places and things are returning to the Star Wars franchise. Thankfully, this will not be one of them.

Carrie Fisher has been pretty pleased with returning to the Wars. It was a nice excuse to see old buddies, get back to her fighting weight and make fun of William Shatner, of course. Fisher explained the experience reunion itself, saying, "We all look a little melted. It's good to see other melted people." She also pretty hilariously pointed out, "And it is good to have us all in a room, because it's unique. I mean, I don't suppose they have reunions for the Gone With the Wind gang." Hooray for not being dead!

You know what is dead, though? Carrie Fisher's terrible, no-good, faux British accent. She confirmed she'll continue playing Leia as "less British." We all kind of assumed, since she'd dropped the accent by the time The Empire Strikes Back came out.

Still, it's reassuring to know that J.J. Abrams didn't suddenly decide he wanted to keep it real and bring back New Hope-era Leia.
