The Stargate has finally reopened in the latest trailer for the streaming prequel series Stargate: Origins, and fans missing the lighter tone of Stargate SG-1 will certainly find a lot to love here. From cracking jokes to exploring the wilds of Egypt, the latest trailer finally gives us a peek at how the series will work. Oh, and the best part? The gate is finally open.

The series stars Ellie Gall as a young Catherine Langford, studying the recently unearthed Stargate back in 1939. We also know a bit more about the story: Young Catherine and her pals are tasked with stopping the Nazis from using the Stargate, which certainly adds to the Indiana Jones-esque vibes this project was already sporting. As for the new footage, we get to see a bit more of the chemistry among the core cast, as well as some of the action on display. Parts of the series were also shot on location in the desert, and the effort seems to have paid off with a bevy of wide, gorgeous shots.

We also finally get to see a bit more of the sci-fi action that fans have been craving since this franchise went off the air back in 2011. Yes, this series will not just be an adventure set around the Stargate—the gate will open, and as a bit of those tantalizing closing shots seem to imply, a few of the old Egyptian gods could be returning to cause trouble for Catherine and her team.

Check out the new trailer below:

The series will air on the Stargate Command streaming service, premiering Feb. 15. The platform has also dropped an updated synopsis for the series ahead of its debut later this month:

"In 1939, Professor Paul Langford and his daughter Catherine are still grappling with the mysteries of the ancient relic they discovered in the Egyptian desert more than ten years ago. With war looming in Europe and funding running out, these brilliant minds are approaching their lowest ebb. Little do they know, answers are about to present themselves in a dangerous form, when the Nazi Occultist Dr. Wilhelm Brücke approaches their facility with a sinister motive.
Enlisting the help of two young soldiers, Catherine must use all of her wit and nous as she and her new allies embark on an adventure into the unknown to rescue her father, and save the Earth from an unimaginable darkness."

The series is written by Mark Ilvedson and Justin Michael Terry, and directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan. The full cast includes Ellie Gall (Catherine Langford), Connor Trinneer (Professor Langford), Aylam Orian (Brücke), Philip Alexander (Captain James Beal), Shvan Aladdin (Wasif), Salome Azizi, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Daniel Rashid, Sarah Navratil, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz, Derek Chariton, Justin Michael Terry, Lincoln Werner Hoppe, and Kelly Vint Castro.
