Casting news about two upcoming TV series have emerged, one being Fox’s X-Men spinoff series The Gifted, and the other being Amazon’s Good Omens.

First things first. Jermaine Rivers (MacGyver) has been cast in the role of Shatter on The Gifted. The character was created in 2002 by Geoff Johns and Shawn Martinbrough for the pages of Morlocks #1, a teenager who tried to kill himself when his mutant powers activated.

Since his powers included skin being nearly invulnerable in crystal form, the fact that he shot himself in the head had no effect, bar leaving him with a huge cracked depression on the side of his skull.

The actor took to Twitter to confirm his casting earlier today, after his named popped up on IMDb. The news follows yesterday's announcement that Garret Dillahunt had been cast as Dr. Roderick Campbell.

Twitter is also how Neil Gaiman announced that Emerald City’s Adria Arjona has joined the cast of Amazon’s Good Omens. The show is based on Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s fantasy novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch about “practical occultist” Anathema Device (Arjona), a descendant of Agnes Nutter.

The six-part one-hour series, starring Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale and David Tennant as the demon Crowley, takes place in 2018 as the world is on the brink of the apocalypse and mankind readies itself for the Final Judgment. Let’s just say, having lived on Earth for so long and enjoying various human perks, neither Aziraphale nor Crowley is happy about the whole impending end-of-the-world thing.

Gaiman also revealed the casting of Nina Sosanya (Love Actually) as Sister Mary Loquacious of the Chattering Order of St. Beryl (that was a bit of a mouthful), Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders) as Duke of Hell Hastur, Ariyon Bakare (Rogue One) as Duke of Hell Ligur, and Michael McKean (Better Call Saul) as Shadwell.

The Gifted premieres Oct. 2 on Fox. There's no premiere date for Good Omens just yet. What do you guys think of the casting news?
