Fox has released two new video featurettes for their upcoming X-Men spinoff TV series, The Gifted.

The first video, introduced by writer/executive producer Matt Nix (Burn Notice), takes a look at X-Men comic book characters Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Blink (Jamie Chung), Eclipse (Sean Teale), and Polaris (Emma Dumont), and shows the actors briefly explaining their character’s mutant powers. Of course, it shows off some of our heroes in action, as well.

As for the second sneak peek, we have interviews with Nix, director and executive producer Bryan Singer (the pilot's director) and star Stephen Moyer (who plays patriarch Reed Strucker). They help establish the world of The Gifted at a time where no one knows the whereabouts of the X-Men.

Here's the official synopsis:

"The Gifted tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive."

The show also stars Amy Acker (Angel, Dollhouse, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Caitlin Strucker, and Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) and Percy Hynes White (Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb) as Reed and Caitlin's mutant children, Lauren and Andy. The Gifted is set to premiere Oct. 2 on Fox.
