Fox’s upcoming X-Men spinoff TV series The Gifted has released a new sneak peek that sees the Strucker kids putting their emerging mutant powers to the test.

Featuring Stephen Moyer (True Blood) as Reed Strucker, Amy Acker (Angel, Dollhouse, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Kate Strucker, Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) as Lauren Strucker, and Percy Hynes White (Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb) as Andy Strucker, The Gifted is the brainchild of producer and showrunner Matt Nix (Burn Notice).

The Gifted follows a family who has to go on the run when they discover their kids are mutants. Made in collaboration with Marvel TV, the series will feature mutant characters Lorna Dane/Polaris (Emma Dumont), Eclipse (Sean Teale), Blink (Jamie Chung), Thunderbird (Blair Redford), and Shatter (Jermaine Rivers).

In the show’s new clip, we see Lauren and Andy testing their powers on a vending machine. While Lauren easily controls her telekinetic powers, the same can’t be said for Andy, and you can see the explosive results below:

The Gifted premieres Oct. 2 on Fox.
