A new trailer for Fox's The Gifted debuted at San Diego Comic-Con today, and it shows a lot more mutant action than the first trailer did. We learn much more about the Strucker family, whose two children, Andy, played by Percy Hynes White, and Lauren, played by Gotham's Natalie Alyn Lind, discover they are mutants -- a complicated discovery since their father Reed (Stephen Moyer) is a mutant hunter by trade.

Aside from dumping some exposition, we get to see plenty of mutant powers, as Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, played by Emma Dumount, gets to show off the most. Her magnetic abilities are handy when running from police officers in metal cars and firing metal bullets, after all. Blink (here played by Jaime Chung, previously played by Fan Bing Bing in X-Men: Days of Future Past) mostly shows off her teleportation portals for fun here, and Thunderbird and new mutant Eclipse get their own spotlights.

While the X-Men and Brotherhood of Evil Mutants aren't exactly represented here, they are mentioned, which hints at a larger mutant story in this world.

It's an exciting trailer that much better represents the series, which looks like it will be very intense and have a lot of action.

Gifted, showrun by Matt Nix, premieres October 2, 2017, on FOX. Nix wrote the pilot with Brian Singer as director.
