Tom Hiddleston was on hand (dressed as an ape, no less) during tonight’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to debut the newest trailer for Warner Bros.’ upcoming "King of the Monsters" movie Kong: Skull Island.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) from a screenplay by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), the film, set in the 1970s (like the 1976 King Kong movie starring Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin), is an origin story about everyone’s favorite giant ape.
Kong: Skull Island stars
Loki Tom Hiddleston as Captain James Conrad, a former British SAS officer, and Captain Marvel Brie Larson as a photojournalist and peace activist named Weaver. Also starring are Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Kebbell, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins and Shea Whigham.
The trailer features a boatload of exciting new scenes, including an awesome look at Kong. Also, choppers! Samuel L. Jackson staring down the King! A giant lizard thingie! An iconic moment? And So. Much. More.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
Kong: Skull Island will open in movie theaters on March 10, 2017. Oh, and check out the new posters that were released earlier today.
