Ah, those wonderful toys. In the ever-secretive world of franchise films, fans have been turning to toy packaging in the past few years for sneak peeks at upcoming characters, vehicles and other information. Whether it's the first look at a Justice League villain, the secret origin of Vision, or what Sabine looks like under her helmet, toy boxes have been a treasure trove of information.
That continues with the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Canto Bight Police Speeder vehicle from Hasbro—as spotted by StarWarsNewsNet—which was somehow put out on a shelf a full month early. The set, which includes the vehicle and a Canto Bight officer, is supposed to be sold on this year's "Force Friday," the first Friday of September, which will see a worldwide release of new Star Wars toys and accessories for the third year in a row. This time, we learn the name of a planet in The Last Jedi where the casino city is located.
"Anyone attempting to escape the law on Cantonica had best move fast, as the police force of Canto Bight has at its disposal these swift, lightweight pursuit craft," the description says.
So Canto Bight is just the city name, and it resides on Cantonica. We don't know too much about Cantonica yet, except that Canto Bight is a massive casino, its visitors dress amazingly, and there should be one heck of a chase scene happening there.
Cantonica joins Crait, the desert planet seen in the first trailer (where there be new First Order Walkers), as a new addition to the Star Wars universe, though it's very possible one or both will be seen in novels or short stories ahead of the film's release, as the "Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi" book line starts up next month as well.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in post-production now under writer-director Rian Johnson's watch, for a Dec. 15 release.
