Between the dolls, demons, and nuns who want to kill you, the world of The Conjuring, based on demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren's real-world case studies, is alive and well. The latest addition to your nightmares comes in the form of The Nun, the fifth feature film in the Conjuring franchise.
The Nun is the fifth film in Warner Bros.' Conjuring franchise, which consists of The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), Annabelle (2014), and Annabelle: Creation (2017). A third Annabelle film was announced at SDCC just as The Nun is stalking its way to theaters. The film follows "a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun."
With the titular demon's yellow eyes staring out from his jacket pocket, The Nun director Corin Hardy sat down with SYFY WIRE at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 to discuss entering the world of The Conjuring, what scares him in real life, and the energy the Farmiga sisters (Vera and Taissa) bring to the franchise.
The Nun premieres in theaters on September 7.
