You may recall that director Corin Hardy set himself a most epic Halloween task by carving 31 pumpkins for the month of October. But if you weren’t following his crafty work closely, you may have missed a mild spoiler pertaining to his next flick, the much-anticipated The Nun.

The British director kept his end of the bargain up, and on All Hallows' Eve revealed his final pumpkin to be a scary sneak peek of what the titular character of his movie will look like.

“PUMPKIN #31 OF 31! IS #THENUN. (Spoiler alert!),” Hardy captioned his post on Instagram. “It’s been a flickering orange-tinted blast carving these for you. Hope you’ve enjoyed them – Let me know your favourite! HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOLKS!!”

In the following post, Hardy signed off from his challenge, telling followers: “That’s all folks! I’m done. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! #31PumpkinsForHalloween.” He also paid tribute to his assistant on the movie, who had been helping with his spooky challenge.

The Nun – the fifth addition to the Conjuring universe – will be released July 13 next year. Set in 1952 at the Cârța Monastery in Romania, the movie will follow a nun, a priest, and a novitiate as they investigate the mysterious death of a nun.

As well as his own movie, Hardy also paid tribute to some classics, including Salem’s Lot, The Crow, Gremlins, Halloween, The Exorcist, and Pennywise from the new IT movie.
