It seems like the new Howard the Duck series launched just a few months ago (because it did), but now Marvel is getting ready to relaunch the Marvelous Mallard in the wake of Secret Wars. Want a peek?

The series will somewhat pick up where Chip Zdarsky last left the narrative before all these Secret Wars shenanigans, and he’ll be joined by his shape-shifting companion Tara Tam and new office administrator Aunt May (that’s right!). This has been one of the most entertaining series in Marvel’s lineup over the past several months, and we can’t wait to see what Zdarsky cooks up next.

Along with keeping Howard’s story rolling, the debut issue will also feature a backup story featuring the highly anticipated debut of the mashup character Gwenpool. That story will be written by Christopher Hastings, with art by Danilo Beyruth. Sadly, the issue doesn’t actually arrive until November.

Also of note: We have an excellent interview with Zdarsky that we conducted during New York Comic Con coming up soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Until then, enjoy some preview pages …
