Check out a description for the upcoming TV series via Entertainment Weekly:
The show picks up in 1306, toward the end of the Templars’ run as one of the most powerful organizations in the Christian world. Thanks to the bloody battles of the Crusades, the Templars are losing allies at the same time they’re gaining enemies, such as the King of France. With the help of a special sword and the knowledge that the Holy Grail is somewhere in France, the Templars bet everything on this grand quest.
Could the special sword be Excalibur, somehow? Am I reading too much into this? After all, the search for the Holy Grail is also tied to the Arthurian legend, but, yeah, this is probably just wishful thinking on my part. That sword doesn't look Excalibur-like, but it's got a hidden secret for sure. And a nifty one at that.
There’s no premiere date slated for Knightfall yet, but expect the series to air sometime in the fall. Dig into the trailer, and let us know what you think.
