Social media may be alienating people from one another, but it does have its uses. For example, fans can use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to take their best shot at reviving cancelled TV shows. Most recently, it worked for NBC's Timeless, Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Netflix's Sense8 (though admittedly, the fan buzz only gets you so far, it also takes some deals being cut).
Created by The Wachowskis (The Matrix) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5), Sense8 was a sophisticated science fiction series, which was unafraid to probe controversial themes like sexuality, politics, and religion.
Centering around a group of eight people, "Sensates,' who mysteriously become mentally and emotionally connected, the series ran for a total of two seasons and 23 episodes before it was cancelled by Netflix. An immense outpouring of love from fans caused the streaming service to put a two-hour series finale into production and the trailer for the special event has been released online.

Asking what it means to be human, the trailer brings back the Sensates for one more mission and giving it a truly X-Men vibe, some sinister villain wants to "subjugate" them.
“The passionate letters, the petitions, the collective voice that rose up like the fist of Sun to fight for this show was beyond what everyone was expecting,” wrote Lana Wachowski in a letter to fans last summer. “Your love has brought Sense8 back to life. I could kiss every single one of you! It is my great pleasure as well as Netflix’s to announce that there will be another two hour special released next year. After that… if this experience has taught me anything, you NEVER know.”
The Sense8 series finale fittingly drops on Netflix June 8.
