As George R.R. Martin and HBO sort out their dilemma of just which Game of Thrones prequel path to follow after next year's conclusion of the celebrated series, an impressive Irish fan effort has taken up the call with a fantastic short film titled The Wild Wolf.
Produced by Shane Gibson and Ciaran McIlhatton's Wild Wolf Films, it's set 15 years ahead of the events that begin the saga A Song of Ice and Fire, before Robert's Rebellion throws the kingdom into total chaos. It dramatizes the mentioned-but-never-seen duel between Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish and Brandon Stark for the hand of young Catelyn Tully and boasts a talented cast and crew who do the vaulted material justice.
Here's the official press release:
Wild Wolf Films are a small independent film production group from Belfast, home of Game of Thrones and have been inspired by our love of the series to take up a camera and make something ourselves.

A young Petyr Baelish, living as a ward at Riverrun under the care of House Tully, has challenged Brandon to a duel for the Lady Catelyn’s hand in marriage. Brandon is answering the challenge to put young Littlefinger in his place…”
