The world has lost its last Munchkin. Actor Jerry Maren, who was the oldest surviving member of The Wizard of Oz’s musical Lollipop Guild, died last week at age 98, according to Yahoo!. The cause of death has not been released since his passing at a San Diego nursing facility.

Maren’s best-known performance is his scene with Judy Garland where the then 18-year-old, along with his fellow wiseguy-faced Munchkins, welcomed Dorothy to Oz.

Jerry’s character even gives her a lollipop:

The Wizard Of Oz signaled a 30-year run of bit parts for the actor peppered with supporting roles. He appeared in films like 1968’s Planet of the Apes, the dwarf gangster movie Little Cigars, TRON, and Spaceballs. He also appeared in plenty of TV over his incredible 72-year career, including Seinfeld, The Twilight Zone, and No Soap, Radio.

Maren’s final film was the 2010 serial killer riff on Alien vs. Predator, Dahmer vs. Gacy.
