The new Battle: Los Angeles trailer will mess with your mind

If the first teaser felt like an impressionistic alien-invasion tone poem and the second trailer was all bombast, then the most recent one is a synthesis of the two. And, man alive, it looks devastatingly awesome.

We get a little more about Aaron Eckhart's career soldier, a fella that's one step behind the young grunts he leads. And Michelle Rodriguez looks pretty convincing as a downed Air Force flier. And we see a lot more of the aliens who are looking to colonize the Earth, with the City of Angels as the final front in the final battle.

Who can say how ballsy a film this'll be—and we won't know until it opens in early March—but by the grim-and-gritty look of Battle: Los Angeles, if someone ends up loading a virus into an alien mainframe, I'm gonna be pissed.
