These fan-made Star Wars dioramas are better than any licensed toy

Star Wars toys on their own are neat, but nothing tops a home brew.

Star Wars, for all its many special editions, prequels and expanded universes, was already a lush world by the time Return of the Jedi bowed. So many aliens, so many planets, ships, good guys, bad guys, rogues and bounty hunters to play with.

And the toys were, unsurprisingly, pretty great. Even the cheapo first-generation action figures for Star Wars have their charm, which is why they've been such collectibles for so many decades now.

But even cooler than the toys on their own are these dioramas from U.K. artist Carl BouMansour, who has lovingly re-created many of the most iconic scenes and sets from the films. We've assembled some of our favorites, but you can see the full breadth of detail over at Carl's ample Flickr account.
