Praise Be! The new official teaser art and trailer for the second season of The Handmaid’s Tale is here, and The Republic of Gilead appears to be as horrible as ever.
The Emmy-winning series starring Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes and Ann Dowd returns next month with a second season, where Offred (Moss), now pregnant, continues to fight to free her future child from Gilead’s dystopian horrors. “Gilead is within you” is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia (Dowd). In Season Two, the characters will either fight against, or succumb to, this dark truth.

As for the teaser, it doesn’t reveal much in terms of plot points, but it does promise that the second season will continue to be intense, violent and emotionally harrowing like the first season. We hear Offred intone: “Wear the red dress…Wear the wings…Shut your mouth…Be a good girl…Roll over and spread your legs…”
Then she asks a very pertinent question: “Seriously? What the actual f—”
And those wanting to know more about where the second season will go, during the show's panel at TCA last month, creator and executive Bruce Miller, executive producer Warren Littlefield, and Moss disclosed that Season 2 will delve into unexplored aspects of Margaret Atwood's novel on which the show is based.

The Handmaid’s Tale also features Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel.
