This is what Obi-Wan would probably look like in a post-prequels Star Wars film

If you’ve been curious what a younger Old Man Obi-Wan Kenobi might look like in a potential solo film, wonder no more. He looks like this, and it’s pretty great.

As part of its Mythos line, Sideshow has unveiled a new Obi-Wan Kenobi figure that picks up with the Jedi master in the years between the prequel trilogy, and A New Hope. It’s an era we’ve seen explored a bit in the Star Wars Rebels animated series, but this ultra-realistic design hits the finer points a whole lot closer. To that end, Sideshow’s Kevin Ellis told Nerdist they worked hard “finding that balance” between making Alec Guinness a bit younger, and aging-up Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan post-Revenge of the Sith.

They nailed the face, but the devil is really in the details. This Obi-Wan is sporting some vintage Clone Wars armor, and has both Anakin and Qui-Gon’s lightsabers hooked on his belt. The costume is also a great amalgam of the young and old look. If McGregor doesn’t return for a potential Obi-Wan film, here’s hoping Disney can start a global casting search to find somebody who looks like this guy —and don’t forget to give him that rockin’ backpack.

The Obi-Wan figure goes up for preorder on Thursday, September 21.

What do you think of the look? Get you excited for that Obi-Wan solo flick director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Reader) is putting together?
