This new, AI-controlled BB-8 toy from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

It’s amazing how far toy technology has evolved over the years, and now we can trade in our Kenner action figures for a legit Star Wars droid.

As part of the ambitious rollout of new Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys, Sphero has debuted a new toy based on the sequel’s adorably spherical droid BB-8. The tiny droid can be controlled by an iPhone or Android app, or set to an exploratory mode in which it’ll just roll around your house aimlessly.

Even cooler? The toy droid has an adaptive personality that changes as you play. Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands. With Disney rolling out everything from R/C versions of the Millennium Falcon to a boatload of new action figures, this one seems to stand out as one of the most creative toys from the launch.

Check it out below and let us know what you think:

The BB-8 toy droid costs $150 and is set to hit shelves this weekend.
