“Hold on. I want to get a selfie with that Chitauri.”
When tourists travel to New York City for vacation, many of them go on pre-determined sightseeing tours. You know, where you can see where famous authors hung out to get their inspiration, or where you can check out the brownstone home of your favorite A-list celebrity. Thanks to Vanity Fair, fans of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) can now see where some of the most important scenes of their favorite movies took place. Well, at least have an idea where they took place. Stark/Avengers Tower still does not exist. This handy video will you give all you need to know from addresses to mileage in traversing the “MCU NYC.”
First reported over at CBR, the video chronicles everything from the Battle of New York in Avengers to Peter sitting on a fire escape eating his sandwich from Spider-Man: Homecoming. We are sure with some creative Ubering, it could get done quicker, but according to the map, a person would travel just over 54 miles throughout the boroughs to complete the journey. If you love Marvel as much as you enjoy getting your 10,000 steps in, then this should keep you occupied for an entire trip. What’s impressive is that 54 miles don’t include the spots left out of the video, such as the Hulk/Abomination fight in Harlem during The Incredible Hulk. We are also sure that when the Fantastic Four is finally a part of the MCU that the location of the Baxter Building will be one of the videos first updates.
Fans use the MCU as a gateway to get as close to their heroes in real-life as possible. Vanity Fair has made that connection even closer.
The next entry into the MCU, Captain Marvel, opens in theaters March 8, 2019.
