Robert Downey Jr. dropped out of the proposed film adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens only a few days ago, but producers have already focused on a replacement: none other than James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.

Collider.com reports that Craig is in talks to play the lead role of Zeke Jackson:

Obviously, this would be very cool since it would be his first collaboration with Jon Favreau, who is directing the film from a script by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek), and Damon Lindelof (Lost).

It's possible Craig won't be able to take the role, as he's still committed to a 23rd 007 movie.

You can read here what Orci and Kurtzman told us about the movie last March.

What do you think of Craig, Daniel Craig, as a Wild West alien-fighting cowboy?
