In the wake of the exciting news that Hulk may get to smash his way into Thor: Ragnarok, now comes word that a couple more comic-book characters may pop up in what is considered to be Marvel’s darkest script yet.
According to a report by Devin Faraci over at Birth.Movies.Death, the God of Thunder’s third “solo” outing is so dark that this is the real reason Marvel has hired Taika Waititi -- who's a comedy director; they want him to lighten the mood on an otherwise pretty dark script, so that the movie is closer in tone and feel to what they are already offering in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The site says Disney sources have told them Waititi may be joined by another writer to help him keep things a tad more light and breezy while keeping writer Christopher Yost’s “apocalyptic vibe.” And this is where the rumored Hulk/Thor pair-up comes into play. Apparently the two of them will be “taking a cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style.” This potential pairing sounds pretty sweet to my ears.
They also claim that the two Avengers will not only get to meet Valkyries along the way ('cause it's the end of the world, Norse-style, and all that), but Marvel may introduce the superheroine Valkyrie into the MCU.
Valkyrie, aka Brunnhilde, was an Asgardian first introduced in the pages of The Avengers. She was also a longtime member of the Defenders, was a one-time love interest of Thor's and had the supervillainess Amora, the Enchantress, as her lifelong nemesis. Since it was in a story featuring the Enchantress (also an Asgardian) that Valkyrie was introduced in the first place, Birth.Movies.Death wonders (and rightly so) if this might mean we’ll finally get to see the oft-rumored villainous Norse goddess in the next Thor film.
What do you guys think? Would you love to see the Valkyries, Brunnhild (aka Valkyrie) and Enchantress make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thor: Ragnarok? The movie is set to premiere on Nov. 3, 2017.
