We're now less than two months away from the release of the first film in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey. That means the marketing campaign is kicking into high gear, and that means it's time for new footage in the flick's first 30-second TV spot.

Granted, this is just a brief glimpse at the film compared to some of the more expansive trailers we've seen so far this year, but even in half a minute the spot manages to give us glimpses of new footage. We've got more of Bilbo arguing with Gandalf, and a memorable moment in which Thorin Oakenshield sizes up the hobbit and his possible skill at fighting. But perhaps the most memorable moment comes at the very beginning, when we hear the opening line of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel: "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit ..."
