Good news, Dragon Ball Z fans! Later this year, you’ll be able to revisit some of the earlier adventures of the Saiyan race on the big screen, thanks to Fathom Events and Toei Animation. This fall, three remastered Dragon Ball Z movies are coming to theaters, Entertainment Weekly is reporting.
First up, Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan will debut in theaters on Sept. 15 and Sept. 17. The movie, originally released in 1993, features Goku, Vegeta and Co. as they’re lured to New Vegeta by the other surviving members of the Saiyan race. One of those survivors might be even more powerful than they are, as the Z-fighters soon encounter, well, Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan (it's the title of the film, after all).
Next, the Dragon Ball Z Saiyan Double Feature: Dragon Ball Z: Bardock — The Father of Goku and Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, hits theaters on Nov. 3 and Nov. 5.
Bardock — The Father of Goku tells the story of Goku’s father, a Saiyan warrior cursed with the power of foresight who sees the oncoming destruction of the Saiyan race at the hands of galactic tyrant Frieza. So, he hastily forms a rebellion while also working to send his infant son to safety (if this story sounds to you like a mix between John the Baptist and Superman’s father, Jor-El, you’re not alone).
The second film in the double feature, Fusion Reborn, follows Goku and Vegeta as they deal with the dead coming back to life across the universe. As they look to discover what’s causing this, Goku and Vegeta use the Fusion Technique for the first time to create the super-being Gogeta. Got all that?
Tickets for these films are available on Fathom Events’ website.
