WIRE Buzz: Sandra Oh & Michelle Yeoh catch Tiger's Apprentice; Dylan Sprouse goes Beyond Kuiper; more

Sandra Oh and Michelle Yeoh

The Tiger's Apprentice is getting a little more help!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) and Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) will be joining the voice cast for the upcoming animated Paramount film, based on the best-selling book of the same name by Lawrence Yep.

Also joining the cast will be Brandon Soo Hoo (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live), Sherry Cola (Good Trouble), and Kheng Hua Tan (Magnum P.I.).

The Tiger's Apprentice tells the story of Tom, a young Chinese American boy living in San Francisco, who runs into a shape-shifting (and talking) tiger named Mr. Hu (voiced by Snake Eyes' Henry Golding), who decides to protect and mentor the boy while guiding him through a magical world — which includes an ancient phoenix, a dragon, and a clan of evil-doers.

Oh will be voicing Mistral, the aforementioned dragon, who is a friend of the tiger and is exiled, now living in San Francisco as well. There's no news on who Yeoh will be playing in the movie.

Tiger's Apprentice will be directed by former Pixar animator Carlos Baena (Wall-E, Toy Story 3) who will be making his directorial debut. The script was adapted by Davig Magee (Life of Pi), Harry Cripps, and Kyle Jarrow, with the trio focusing on the first book in the trilogy, which is followed by Tiger's Blood and Tiger's Magic

The Tiger's Apprentice is set to come out Feb. 10, 2023.

Next, The Wrap is reporting that Dylan Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) will be returning to acting — albeit the voice kind — in Heavy Metal Entertainment's new upcoming audiobook, Beyond Kuiper: The Galactic Star Alliance

This isn't the former Disney actor's first creative endeavor with the fantasy magazine publisher, having also written a recent original comic titled Sun Eater, the first issue of which was released just last month.

The Beyond Kuiper audiobook is part of a new venture between Heavy Metal and the Podium Audio network, which adapts science fiction and fantasy novels into audiobooks. Sprouse will voice a character named Odian Spek. (Listen to a sample of Sprouse's voice work in the trailer below.)

Also joining the project will be George C. Romero, son of legendary horror director George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) and writer of his own Heavy Metal published comic, who will play a character named Tordok.

Created by Lockheed Martin aerospace engineer John Connelly and Chief Executive of Heavy Metal Entertainment Matthew Medney, Beyond Kuiper focuses on not just the presence of life in space, but the possibility that it might want nothing to do with us after all. The novel tells the story of Bernard William Hubert, a renowned astrophysicist who survives an interstellar disaster, but fails to convince the rest of humankind that the attack was caused by aliens. Shunned by the scientific community, Hubert decides to start his own company, so he can return to space and solve this particular mystery.

This is Connelly's first writing project.

Beyond Kuiper: The Galactic Alliance will be released on Nov. 11 in audibook and novel form.

And finally, if Aya Cash's turn as Stormfront on this season of Amazon's The Boys hasn't sent a chill down your spine, check out the trailer for Scare Me.

The upcoming horror film, which will premiere on AMC's horror-centric streaming service Shudder, sees Cash star alongside Josh Ruben (who also directs the film) as the pair play Fanny and Fred, two writers who find themselves trapped in a cabin in the woods and decide to tell each other scary stories in an attempt to one-up each other out of boredom.

Watch a new trailer for the Sundance-featured flick below:

Scare Me premieres on Shudder Oct. 1.
