The guy behind Alice in Wonderland and the guy behind Wanted are teaming up to adapt Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the new book that suggests the 16th president of the United States also slew bloodsuckers on the side.
Directors Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov will produce the movie, based on Seth Grahame-Smith's novel, which hit bookstores today, Deadline Hollywood reported:
Grahame-Smith kicks off with the revelation that Lincoln's mother was killed by a supernatural creature, which fueled his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers. The novel depicts the 16th U.S. president as an ax-throwing, highly trained vampire killer.
Burton, as we know, is also developing a movie based on Dark Shadows.
What do you think of this? And are you ready for Johnny Depp as Slaybraham Lincoln? (We're just guessing about that last part. And thanks to Stax at IGN for letting us steal "Slaybraham.")
