That time Batman and Buzz Lightyear busted up a bar fight. For real.

Did you know that Batman and Buzz Lightyear hang out together?  And fight crime?  It's true!

Okay, we say "true," but that's stretching the definition of truth a little bit.  Still, this triumphant story of two men in fancy dress fighting crime makes us wish these characters could actually meet.

Fifty-three-year-old bar landlord Steve Lowe was at a cosplay event at a nearby pub, The Horse and Jockey, dressed as Batman when he got word that things had gotten a bit dodgy at his place of business, the Stop Inn.  Some 20 youths had gotten out of hand, and the hope was that Lowe could eject them from the premises.

Leave it to Lowe and part-time bartender Shane Lee, dressed as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.  While Lee waited outside to safeguard the door, Lowe burst in, still dressed as the Dark Knight, and immediately set the situation to rights.  Lowe explains how it all went down.

I’m not a small fella so I looked the part and it was easy as Batman to get them outside. Then I had Buzz Lightyear on the door making sure they didn’t get back in.

There's nothing quite like the element of surprise to take down a villanous foe -- or, this case, 20 of them.  Lowe and Lee did such a fine job, in fact, that the police didn't even have to lift a finger.  Apparently they were phoned about a disturbance but simply reported:

Large scale disturbance –- a lot involved, but no further action needed… Batman sorted it.

We'd never thought of Batman and Buzz Lightyear teaming up before, but now it's something we can never unsee.
