A film adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's acclaimed comic Y: The Last Man has been in the works for years. But one aspiring filmmaker got tired of waiting—so he made his own movie, and it's actually pretty good.
Dubbed Y: The Last Man Rising, the 20-minute fan film was created by filmmaker Christian Cardona. It follows the earliest threads of the comics as a global event wipes out all but one man and his pet monkey.
For an indie web short, the production values are pretty solid, and this little flick is actually pretty entertaining.
The short stars relative unknowns Travis Quentin Young as Yorick Brown, Kent King as Agent 355 and Rebecca Marshall as Hero Brown.

What do you think? Can the long-delayed big-screen version top it?
