After on-set filming photos from DC's upcoming live-action Titans series were leaked onto the internet earlier this week, one of its actors is speaking out about the resulting "cruel comments" she received in the aftermath.

Anna Diop, whose casting as Starfire was confirmed in August of last year, posted a statement via her Instagram in response to the mixed fan reaction to the leaked Titans photos—the worst of which included racist remarks and hate speech.

According to Diop's Instagram, she's mostly disappointed that these leaked photos, which she referred to as "sloppy," "out of context," and a "misrepresentation," served as the fans' first introduction to this live-action Starfire, without any of the important post-production effects that will transform the character before the show's premiere.

However, Diop did take a moment to remind fans that regardless of their personal feelings about what her Starfire may look like, using the anonymity of the internet to send hateful comments is never okay. "And though I am highly unbothered," she wrote, "I do want to use this as an opportunity to say that tearing people down is not something that I tolerate. For myself or anyone else."
