The new sci-fi shows just keep coming, and now TNT has added another genre project set to join The Last Ship on the cable network sometime next season. This one? A supernatural drama dealing with everything from ghosts to reincarnation.

Dubbed Proof, the series will star Jennifer Beals (The Chicago Code, The L Word) as a “brilliant surgeon” who is persuaded by a cancer-stricken tech millionaire (Matthew Modine) to start investigating cases of hauntings, reincarnation, out-of-body experiences and other supernatural wackiness.

The series is being produced by Kyra Sedgwick, so think, maybe, Miracles meets The Closer? The new show is set to premiere in 2015, so I suppose they still have plenty of time to figure it out. The network has placed an initial order of 10 episodes.

Along with Beals, who was awesome in Shawn Ryan’s short-lived cop series The Chicago Code, the series will also star Joe Morton (Scandal). It sounds like an interesting concept, and might be able to balance TNT’s procedural fare with a good supernatural angle. Here’s hoping, anyway.

Do you think you’ll check this one out next year?
