Falling Skies is keeping its spot on TNT's schedule. The network's confirmed that the sci-fi drama will return for season four. Considering its strong numbers, is anyone surprised? Falling Skies averages 5.8 million viewers a week, which includes Live+7 DVR playback. According to the press release, it's basic cable’s No. 1 scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer to date.

Season four will consist of 10 episodes and is expected to debut in summer 2014. The current season is dealing with major changes and notable guest stars that are making their presence known (i.e. Gloria Reuben, Robert Sean Leonard, Stephen Collins and Doug Jones). Its return has given TNT a boost, making it one of the summer's top-rated cable networks.

Falling Skies airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.
